Chicken or the Egg
Geez. For someone to take 40000 ecstacy pills in 9 years, they'd have to have a certain amount of pre-existing mental problems. I don't think the drugs really made things that much worse.

25 hits a day for 4 years straight. if this guy is as messed up as they say he is, how can they trust his estimate of pills over time?
once you start getting a bit tripped out, an hour can feel like weeks. we've all been there before..
